In 1999, Rudy Djoe won Malay Prime 12’s (now Suria TV) Anugerah 12 talent show. Since then, he has performed on a variety of Malay television programmes, at private events, and represented Singapore at regional concerts such as
- Esplanade’s Muara Festival (Singapura, Indonesia, Malaysia),
- Singapore-Indonesia ‘Fiesta Muzik’ (Singapore/Indonesia)
- Singapore- Brunei ‘Rapsodi’ (Mediacorp / RTB),
- Singapore-Malaysia ‘Muzika Ekstravaganza’ (Mediacorp, RTM) and
- Keroncong Gala (Esplanade Theatre).
He has also performed for “Keroncong KSL Concert” at Bentara Budaya, Jakarta, Indonesia and for the state event of the Governor of Melaka in Malaysia.
In early 2016, Rudy released an album entitled Dari Kalbuku, produced by record icanstudiolive in Jakarta.
Known for his smooth, distinctive and unique vocals, Rudy is a versatile Crooner who effortlessly switches between genres such as Jazz, Malay Pop & Traditional, English/American evergreens / standards, and also between languages such as Spanish and Filipino. His talent is recognized in the Malay television and radio industries.
Rudy’s inspirations include great English, Malay & Indonesian legends such as Sugiman Jahuri, Saloma , P.Ramlee, Ahmad Daud, Bing Slamet, Sam Saimun, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams, Matt Monro, Ella Fitzgerald, Dusty Springfield and many others.
